Welcome to the Malvern Wells CE Primary School Website

The school was built in 1885 and has been modestly extended to give a pleasant learning environment. There are 104 children on roll divided into 4 mixed age classes. It is a VA School having close relationships with the church and a positive Christian ethos, which underpins our whole approach.

Our school is happy, caring and busy. The children are open and friendly, being ready to communicate and become actively involved in their education. We aim to create a supportive and secure environment and to inspire a love of learning. We encourage good communications with pupils, parents and governors. Staff model the standards of courtesy and behaviour that they expect from their pupils, and establish positive relationships based on mutual trust. We underwent a successful OFSTED in July 2009 and a Literacy OFSTED in March 2011.

Relationships between adults and pupils are excellent and pupils have exceptionally positive and mature attitudes towards their learning.

The teaching observed was never less than good. Teachers make good use of assessment data to plan their lessons so that activities meet the wide ranging ages and abilities of the pupils. Teachers have high expectations to which pupils eagerly aspire

Exceptionally high standards in reading and speaking and listening are evident throughout Key Stage 2

One of the key strengths of the school is pupils’ outstanding personal development and well-being.

Their behaviour is exemplary and they show very high levels of concern for others. Many examples were observed of pupils sensitively supporting each other.

Pupils thoroughly enjoy school, as reflected in their outstanding attendance. As one parent, reflecting a typical view, said, ‘There is a very positive atmosphere, with happy, enthusiastic children running into school every morning.’ Pupils make a splendid contribution to the community.
